Sales Merchandiser - Off Premise

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

To ensure all Capital Distributing products are positioned at retail locations in such a way as to encourage purchase. This position is considered a safety sensitive position as defined by the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention and Testing Program as allowed under the State of Oklahoma House Bill 2612 (aka “The Unity Bill”).

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Stock shelves, rebuild displays and prepare all other shopping areas for consumer purchase.
  • Place and replace all POS materials to assure effectiveness and accuracy.
  • Ensure all products have been rotated and are in good condition for purchase.
  • Complete or assist in resets as prescribed by management.
  • Report or act upon opportunities discovered in assigned accounts.
  • Notify management of customer need for additional product.
  • Keep POS area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Keep a positive image and relationship with all customers that are contacted.
  • Properly complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
  • Communicate and cooperate with all departments of the company to ensure the smooth operation of the company as a whole.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with all customers, co-employees and management.
  • Maintain appropriate dress and personal appearance.
  • Know, understand and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Promote company goodwill in all areas, assist others and perform tasks as appropriate and/or necessary to help maintain the positive image of Capital Distributing in the market.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of sales or merchandising experience preferred
  • Strong computer and technical skills
  • Must be organized and able to prioritize
  • Capable of strategic thinking and planning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to drive, sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs consistently; up to 75lbs occasionally
  • Must be able to push or pull 50 to 100 lbs
  • Must be able to twist and reach overhead
  • Must be able to crawl and/or climb a ladder
